For Lisa. (:

Has anybody heard the story of Achilles? Well, if you haven't, here it is.  Ha ha.
Achilles was the son of mortal Peleus, and the Nymph Thetis. Thetis tried to make her son immortal by dipping him into the Styx river, while holding him by his left heel. Because of this, his left heel was the only part of him that could be mortally wounded. He was shot in the heel by a God guided arrow which was his downfall. Before this, he was in the Trojan war. He became a Greek hero when he killed Hector, an enemy to Greece, and dishonored his body by dragging it around from the back of a chariot.

That's Achilles for you.

Side-Note: Have I ever mentioned how much I love my young women leaders? They're great. I look up to all of them very much. They are very inspiring people. (:

My Favorite Sense

I guess I'm weird because everyone seems to think so, but I love my sense of smell. I don't know what it is but I LOVE to smell things! Any things! And honestly, I like the smell of some weird things. Like, lotion and perfume and food and those types of things smell good, don't get me wrong, but the things I like the smell of most are, in no particular order:
1) Wood - mmmmmmm. pencil shavings, wood boxes, fire wood, the wood smell at hardware stores....ah...
2) Paint - Don't you love the smell of a freshly painted room?!
3) Gasoline - I plan on making a scentsy scent out of this so I can smell it all day without getting high
4) Paper - Any new paper smells good to me!
5) Money
6) Sharpies
7) Books
8) ....I could probably go on forever, no lie, but I need to go to sleep! But that's the weird side of me. Do you like to smell weird things? Or do have any weird hobbies of your own? Let me know! (:

Bad Luck

I have had a stuffy nose since last Thursday. Yeah, it's annoying, but I can deal right? Well, then I went to the Syracuse Family Fun Center. They were giving away free soda and hot dogs. I got a straw and opened it. I went to take a drink and accidentally shoved the straw up into the roof of my mouth. Anyone ever done that before? My friend did it to me on accident before and both times it hurt SOOO bad. Blood starts rushing out all over the place and it's just awful. Plus, it leaves this imprint in your mouth pretty much forever. I have had one since 7th grade, and now there's a new one. Yay........... Lastly, I was on the jump complex at the fun center, which happens to be way cool. But Isaac shoved me down so hard that my neck flipped backwards and I pretty much strained my neck. It hurts to move my head, let alone turn it around. Ugh. Hopefully this will all blow over soon because I feel terrible.

Hullabaloo!

Don't you think hullabaloo is an awesome word? I was going to call this post excitement. But I use that word far too much. So I went to dictionary.com and found a synonym. Better right? (: So..... this post is about the hullabaloo in my life right now!
1) I am getting a new room in the basement!!!! Ah! It's official now. My dad took measurements and stuff tonight and is getting ready to start. Apparently it is prewired so it should be pretty easy. I get my own floor since I'm the only one downstairs and my own bathroom!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait.

2) Isn't this the CUTEST baby nursery you've ever seen in your lifetime?
I fell in love with it when I saw it. It is Tasha Smedley's baby Ivy's nursery. She is going to be one spoiled little girl. Tasha won pretty much every pageant she ever entered and was Miss Teen Utah a couple years ago. Now she's a jazz dancer. Amazing person who was nice enough to let me borrow her dress!

3) Saw Inception. All I have to say is wow. I really liked it. It was hard to follow but turned out to be a really good movie.

4) Fell in love. With this song. Named Mine. By Taylor Swift.

It's so cute and I love her voice! And I love the music video. I give it a ten!

5) Went to a football game at the high school. Not because I like football, but because I got to see a lot of my friends and buy cinnamon tortilla chips from Taco Time! I love those things. But I know that we won! Go Titans! It's crazy, I actually have school spirit. Never would have said that last year!

6) Ha ha I love Saturday Night Live sometimes! Click on the link if you would like to spend your time watching them. (:

That's pretty much it. Hope you have lots of hullabaloo in your life too!

The End.

Yep, I read the end of The Hunger Games series. Mockingjay. Best. Series. Ever.

Yeah, I didn't know until high school that there were "teams" like in the Twilight series. But I am definitely team Peeta and I have been since the middle of the first book. It took forever to get Mockingjay and I was almost scared to read it since everyone on Facebook was like, "Oh I cried forever!" or "Mockingjay ruined the whole series for me!" But, I liked the ending. The epilogue was weird, but the ending was good. So seriously, if you haven't read them yet, I deeply, strongly, advise you to do so.

High School

I am officially a high school student now. It honestly doesn't excite me or anything because it's just another year of school but I think I like going to Syracuse High better than going to Syracuse Junior. The high school is so much more laid back than the Junior High and I think that's nice. They finally treat us like we are adults. Bring food to class if you take care of your own garbage, you can have your iPod as long as you pay attention, and basically you can wear whatever you want. I like that way better than the uptight Junior High! I mean seriously. It's going to be a challenging year though. I am taking Honors English and that's going to involve a lot. I am also taking a concurrent enrollment class even though I am not getting college credit for it. It's ok though because it's Interior Design and it's going to be way fun. Too bad you can't get college credit as a sophmore. It's nice to live so close to the school because it doesn't take me long to walk there. The downside is that there are so many people! I don't have any classes with my friends!! Hopefully I'll make some new ones because I don't like being alone! But yep! That's pretty much high school for me. I like most of my teachers so I'm happy. (:

PS - We got family pictures taken and I'll post some when I get them back! I'm excited to see how they turned out!
