School Days!

Yep, it is official, school has officially started as of yesterday. The first two days have been pretty good and I am pretty excited for the rest of the year. (And, for it to be over as well! :) Here is my schedule!
1st Period: Office Assistent - Mr. Hansen (Erin and I do this together! It is so much fun and just a really easy and relaxing class! We run errands, do check-ins and check-outs, write admit slips, put up the flag, and anything else the faculty wants us to do!)
2nd Period: French 3 - Madame Transmeyer (Erin and I have this class together as well. Madame Tensmeyer is really nice so far. She is pretty young it looks like to me, and I know that I will have a good year in her class.)
3rd Period: Seminary - Brother Call (I am in this class without any real friends. However, my teacher is really funny and nice!)
4th Period: Lunch! (Yay! Erin and I have lunch together!)
5th Period: Earth Systems - Mrs. Bolton (Erin and I have this class together and it seems ok. I don't enjoy science extremely but the teacher is pretty nice so I will get through it!)
6th Period: Math - Miss. Blair (Even though Erin and I have it together, I still don't like it. Math is really not fun, and it is my least favorite subject. However the teacher is ok so I will live.)
7th Period: IB Honors English - Mrs. Killingbeck (This class will be hard but fun and worth the trouble! Erin and I have it together and the teacher is funny and nice so far!)
8th Period: Geography - Mrs. Reed (Erin and I have it together. It is really boring and the teacher is just ok. Blech.)
So as you have probably noticed, Erin and I have all of our classes except 3rd Period together. The reason behind this is Mr. Hansen messed with our schedules to give us as many of the same classes as possible. He also made sure our lockers were right next to each other and we had almost the same combinations! He is so awesome and made this school year so much better for us! Two more quick things: the weird thing about this year for me is that the ninth graders are on a half block schedule. This means I go to classes #1-4 every day, and then on "A" Days, I go to #5 & 7 and on "B" Days I go to classes #6 & 8. However on Fridays I have to go to all 8 of them! Talk about confusing!
Ok last thing! This year I tried out for the volleyball team this year. I went to volleyball camp and practiced hard but I still didn't make it. I am not really sad about it because I knew from the beginning that I didn't have a great chance. It was a good experience though and now I really enjoy playing volleyball! I hope everyone is enjoying the new school year!

A Scary Night..

I have had a really busy week. I went to Girl's Camp on Monday, came home Tuesday, went to Volleyball Camp Wednesday and Thursday, and went back to Girl's Camp on Thursday. Thursday night it was raining and cold. I was soaking wet and it was windy. I was absolutely freezing. I started shaking and shivering so a couple of super nice people let me use their jackets. Even though I had the jackets though I couldn't stop shaking. Soon Jodi (my friend McKenzie's Mom) asked me if I was ready to leave. (She was going to take me back home that night.) I didn't respond to her and so she and Heidi jumped up. Heidi grabbed my hand and pulled me up. She started pulling me behind her. Once we got out of the Pavillion we were sitting in, Heidi told me to stay with Jodi while she went to get the nurse. I felt just fine and I was confused as to the reason why they were getting the nurse. The nurse came back and told me to follow her finger which I did. Then they started pulling me down towards a cabin so that I could get warmed up. They gave me blankets and dry socks and jackets. I became surrounded by people that I didn't know. I was really nervous. These people finally decided that I needed to go to the Emergency Room. Someone took me to their car and made me sit down. I still didn't know anyone, but a man came up to me and told me that he needed to check my blood sugar. I am very scared of needles but I had to let them do it anyways. It hurt and I was crying. I still didn't understand what was going on. The man told me that my blood sugar was normal but that I still needed to go to the ER. Soon Heidi joined me in the car. She was comforting me and keeping me calm. I was really glad to finally have someone that I knew. When we got to the hospital, I got out of the car and the doctor made me sit in a wheelchair and be wheeled into the hospital. I was holding Heidi's hand and still very scared. I got into a hospital bed and laid down. Soon I was getting my blood pressure checked. Heidi was still there and was then joined by Jodi, Lisa, and Linda. They are all so nice to come with me. The nurse put on my hospital bracelet and then they doctor came in. He checked my breathing and other basic things like that. He told me that he needed to draw my blood. I shook my head and would not let him do that. So he left and I was alone with my four leaders again. They were talking to me and stroking my hair, and holding my hands. They made me feel peaceful instead of so nervous and scared. (Afterwards they all four told me that I was constantly shaking and that my eyes were always moving rapidly.) The doctor came back and told me that I had to go have a cat scan. He said I would have to lay still for ten minutes while it x-rayed my brain. Again, I was terrified and was so glad to have Heidi there the whole time. After the cat scan I had to get my finger pricked AGAIN! I absolutley hated it. It hurt really bad. I know this is getting really long so I will make the rest short. My Mom got there, the doctors told me I could go home, I said goodbye to Lisa, Linda, and Heidi, and then got in the car with my Mom and Jodi. I fell asleep on the way home and now I am doing better. I just shake every once and a while, and sometimes still feel cold. I have heard that the doctors think I was cold and in shock, then had an anxiety attack mixed with possibly hypothermia. It was a crazy night and I am so thankful to my leaders staying the night up there with me so that I wasn't alone.

Volleyball Camp!

Volleyball camp is so much fun! We have been working on serving, setting, bumping, passing, attacking, correct posture, and other such fun things! I actually really enjoy it! It is 2 1/2 - 3 hours each day. It is really hot and you have to work really hard but I am loving everything about it. All of the coaches have been awesome, especially Coach O'Malley. She is incredibly nice and helpful towards Erin and I. Doing this camp has really made me a better player, and I think that I will try out for the Volleyball team this year. I hope you all are doing well!

Little Miss Syracuse!

It has officially been decided! Lyndsey Brophy is going to be my Little Miss Syracuse!!! Yay! I am unbelieveably excited to finally have it set in stone! I gave her the news over the phone and then went to her house to give her two necklaces that I bought for her as a thank you gift for doing this for me. I think she is excited about it and I know she is going to be a lot of fun! The downside is now she has been sucked into the life of pageants! Somehow I don't think she will mind. But we have already gotten a photoshoot scheduled for next week! We are making our Tribute Page, a publicity thing! Lyndsey and I are going to make a great team!
