Christmas Time 2009

Wow. I can hardly believe that this Christmas season is already over. I swear, the older I get, the more time passes by quickly! But I do have some really great memories from this month. Highlights:
1. As a youth group, we went caroling in a care center for Senior citizens.
2. We couldn't put up our tree the Saturday after Thanksgiving like normal because we got new carpet. We had a pretty exciting time moving all the furniture and having carpet torn out and put in. It doesn't sound very fun but it was! The only downside was not being able to put our tree up until about two weeks before Christmas. That totally shortened my Christmas season.
3. For our neighbor gifts this year, my mom decided that cupcakes would be fast, easy, and fun. Boy was she wrong! We ended up having to make and decorate a grand total of 154 cupcakes! This project took exactly 10 1/2 hours. Believe me, we counted. The fun part was decorating them with snowflake, gingerbread men, holly leave, and candy cane sprinkles, and other fun stick-outs with all different pictures. Then we went and delivered them all and sang "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" to all the receipients.
4. Christmas eve this year was also a blast. Like always, we went to Mimi's Cafe for breakfast. I absolutely love Mimi's Cafe. They make the best hot chocolate (and food!) in the world! Then we went home and waited until the time came to drive up to Orem for our traditional Christmas Eve at my Grandparents' house. All of my family brings soup or chili and we just have a soup bar type thing. Then we perform the nativity scene. This year, I volunteered to be Joseph because no one else would! Lastly, we have a talent show. I was able to play my own arrangement of Silent Night. That was really a cool thing for me. I really enjoyed writing it. Lastly, we ate banana cream pie before taking the long and anxious feeling ride home. Upon getting home, we opened our one Christmas Eve present of tradition - pajamas! This year I got an adorable and comfortable set of Hello Kitty pajamas! I love Hello Kitty! Then it was off to bed for a horrible night's sleep.
5. Finally, the seemingly endless night was over and we all rushed downstairs to open presents! I had an amazing amazing amazing Christmas this year! Some of the highlights of my presents include: a Brand New HP laptop!! It is amazing! I happen to be typing on it right now! I absolutely love it! Along with it I got a wireless router so I can access the internet wirelessly anywhere in the house, and a wireless printer for my room. I also got some clothes, candy, coloring stuff, lotion, jewlery, games, notepads, and etc. As a family, we got a trip to Florida! Woo woo! We also got a new plasma screen TV and a new entertainment system, we got 3 new phones, and we got an Xbox 360. So overall, I am entirely thrilled! It is amazing!'
6. I forgot this earlier, but we also went to various performances this past month. We went to Isaac's Christmas piano recital, The Savior of the World, The Forgotten Carols, and A Christmas Carol. (The play, not the movie!)

I so much love the Christmas season! I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!!

Life's Latest

So, it has been a long time since I have posted anything. Really, nothing significant has happened. Oh well, I will find something to post about. So lately my life has been full of new people. I now am friends with BriAnna, Tyler, Brady, and Mandi. It is pretty exciting and I am glad to have fun people to talk to now! I have been keeping extremely busy on the yearbook staff as the editor. We barely made our last deadline, but somehow we did!! I am still writing letters to all of my friends and loving it! There is nothing more exciting then opening my mailbox to find something for me from a friend! It makes me very happy! I am pretty stressed out about all of the projects I have going on right now though in all of my various classes. I have one big geography project, one big math project, and FIVE giant english projects! Yes, I know! Crazy right? That's what I get for having Killingbeck for Honors English. Sigh. Oh well, I would rather be busy then bored! Um, I don't think I have any other new information. Oh, yes I do. We got new carpet last week. It was pretty exciting. Strange, but exciting. Yep, that is totally it. Ok, au revoir bloggers!

Things to Be Happy About!

I haven't posted in a couple of weeks, so I thought I would just make a post on things that I am happy about! Today was a good school day for once, so I am in the mood to write this!

1) I am pysched to be getting my teeth whitened! I have always wanted whiter teeth and now I finally get my chance! The dentist took my impressions today and tomorrow I will be getting the whitening trays. I put bleach in the trays and the wear them at night! Yes!

2) Crowns! Lately, I have been loving anything with a crown on it. I love crown paper, pictures, paintings, jewlery, and of course actual crowns! If it has a crown on it, I would love to get my hands on it! ( I LoVe this picture that I took by the way! :)

3) Although I am immensely sad that Erin has moved, it is fun beginning to write her letters. I have written a couple so far! The last day that we spent together, we made "letter boxes." Whenever we get a letter from the other person, we put it in our box.

4) Just having a good life! Yep, the first three were all that I could think of for now!

♥ Until next time! ♥

Stuck at 7-11!

McKenzie and I had a very interesting adventure last night. We had decided to go see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince again at the Kaysville movie theater for $2. I loved it at the premiere and so I figured it would be worth it to go see it again for $2. We were dropped off by McKenzie's Dad and we went inside to buy our tickets. Except....it was sold out!!! Well, this was a problem. We asked the ticket guy f0r a phone so that we could hurry and call McKenzie's Dad before he left Kaysville. The ticket guy gave McKenzie his cell phone and she called only to get his answering machine. We had no other options but to leave the theater and look for another phone elsewhere. We walked down the street to Dylan's. We went inside and asked for a phone but they wouldn't let us use it. They told us we would have to go to 7-11 if we needed a phone. So we ran across the street as fast as we could (the crosswalk was broken so we had to wait for the perfect time and then bolt!) We went inside 7-11 and McKenzie called her Dad. Her Dad said that he would go home to drop off her little sister Lexi and be right back to get us. While we waited we bought pina colada icees, gummy bears, and hershey bars. We sat down and waited, and waited, and waited. While we waited we sang Love Story, Party in the USA, the Climb, Hot N' Cold, and the "Stuck at 7-11 Blues." People must have thought we were insane. After about 30 minutes, we went outside to look at the movies in the Redbox machine. We spent 15 minutes there just playing around and there was this guy there standing to the side of us. Apparently, he was waiting to use the Redbox machine!! We made him wait so long!!!! It was bad. So we went back inside 7-11 and an hour later, McKenzie's parents came back! We could go home! It was kind of a funny night. I now will consider myself a 7-11 expert!!!

Halloween 09'

Halloween was SO much fun this year! I dressed up as an 80's girl alongside my friend McKenzie. We looked so funny! (You can see the pictures below.) I went Trick or Treating with McKenzie at first and then with Lyndsey (who went as a beauty queen by the way!) I had so much fun with my friends. Lyndsey and I went back to her house afterwards to sort and trade candy. It was a great night. Halloween is an amazing holiday!

New Blog!

I have created myself another blog. This blog is different from most however because I am not going to be using it to tell of my life's experiences. It will be for my poetry, photography, short stories, and etc.. I have only posted one picture as of now, but it will look a lot better soon. Fill free to check it out.

The Syracuse City Pumpkin Walk!

Finally, something out of the ordinary in my life for me to blog about! I got the opportunity to attend the Syracuse City Pumpkin Walk all three days this year! Reason? Because I got to stand at the end in my sash and crown and pass out candy to all of the kids! Ha ha it was so much fun! First of all, three people asked me if I was Taylor Swift! Too funny huh? Second of all, this guy who works for the city named Mike, came up behind me and said, "Don't be frightened!" all scary-like in my ear. It freaked me out so bad! I grabbed Brinley and she probably has claw marks down her arm from me! She is amazing though! Lastly, Mike brought us Warrens' because he is nice like that. (Or else he just feels bad for scaring me!) It was a lot of fun, and an experience I will remember for the rest of my life. I can't even express how cold I was! Twelve hours in the freezing cold winter-like night, is not amazing. But I got through it, came home, and took a super nice WARM shower every night! That is pretty much all I have to say about the Pumpkin Walk. I absolutely love the experience I am having as Miss Teen Syracuse this year. It is an opportunity of a lifetime!

So, Erin has officially left. It is so hard for me and I am going to miss her more than I have missed anybody my entire life.

I decided to get a new music player. It is cute and zebra so you should all check it out.

Lastly, I am done with all of my Honors English homework! Woo! It was official on Tuesday! :)

The Sad News......

So as most people that read my blog have heard by now, Erin is moving. Yep. That's right. To California. Now, as most of you also now, Erin and are jumelles, meaning twins. We are such close best friends and I feel so sad that she is leaving forever. I don't really know what I am going to do. So, this is a super depressing post unlike my normal happy posts. But the one happy thing is thanks so much to Alicia Kinne for taking such beautiful pictures of Erin and I! If you need pictures I very highly recommend checking her out. Her website is aliciakinnephotography.blogspot.com

Girl's Night!

On Friday, McKenzie and I decided that we should have a Girl's Night with some of our favorite people - The Brophy girls! We invited Natalie, Lyndsey, and Maddi over to my house for the night. We started this fun party by playing Girl Talk Jenga and What-if and Then! Fun games!

Ha ha don't we look so happy?

Next, we decided to pose for the camera! Work it!

Next, we headed downstairs for a snack, Oreo ice cream and orange juice! Ha ha! Look at our orange juice drinking pictures! They are amazing! I especially love Lyndsey and Natalie's! So cute!

Last event of the night was to watch Ella Enchanted!!

McKenzie and I had such a fun time with them and hopefully they had fun too! They are such fun people and I love to hang out and talk with them! I am crossing my fingers that we can have another party soon!

Life Lately...

So lately, there hasn't been anything extremely important in my life to blog about. So here is just a review of some of the things that I have been doing.
♥ I made the yearbook staff. Erin and I have been asked to be co-editors which is pretty cool. I went to my first meeting today and it looks like this is going to be a lot of fun! (Today we decided on a theme and on the yearbook cover!)
♥ School, same old same old. Nothing new. Boring and stressful. Yay.
♥ Miss Utah! I went to my first workshop for Miss Utah Outstanding Teen Pageant. It is a lot bigger and a lot different then the Syracuse Pageant. But I have learned a lot and I am getting ready!
♥ The saddest part of my life is that Erin is moving. TO CALIFORNIA! I am so sad and I don't know what I am going to do. I am going to miss her like crazy and I am going to have major withdrawal from this.

Lastly, I have been really getting into "Would You Rather" questions lately. So I am going to ask one and you all should leave comments with your answer. Here it is: Would you rather know it all or have it all?

Blog ya' later!

School Days!

Yep, it is official, school has officially started as of yesterday. The first two days have been pretty good and I am pretty excited for the rest of the year. (And, for it to be over as well! :) Here is my schedule!
1st Period: Office Assistent - Mr. Hansen (Erin and I do this together! It is so much fun and just a really easy and relaxing class! We run errands, do check-ins and check-outs, write admit slips, put up the flag, and anything else the faculty wants us to do!)
2nd Period: French 3 - Madame Transmeyer (Erin and I have this class together as well. Madame Tensmeyer is really nice so far. She is pretty young it looks like to me, and I know that I will have a good year in her class.)
3rd Period: Seminary - Brother Call (I am in this class without any real friends. However, my teacher is really funny and nice!)
4th Period: Lunch! (Yay! Erin and I have lunch together!)
5th Period: Earth Systems - Mrs. Bolton (Erin and I have this class together and it seems ok. I don't enjoy science extremely but the teacher is pretty nice so I will get through it!)
6th Period: Math - Miss. Blair (Even though Erin and I have it together, I still don't like it. Math is really not fun, and it is my least favorite subject. However the teacher is ok so I will live.)
7th Period: IB Honors English - Mrs. Killingbeck (This class will be hard but fun and worth the trouble! Erin and I have it together and the teacher is funny and nice so far!)
8th Period: Geography - Mrs. Reed (Erin and I have it together. It is really boring and the teacher is just ok. Blech.)
So as you have probably noticed, Erin and I have all of our classes except 3rd Period together. The reason behind this is Mr. Hansen messed with our schedules to give us as many of the same classes as possible. He also made sure our lockers were right next to each other and we had almost the same combinations! He is so awesome and made this school year so much better for us! Two more quick things: the weird thing about this year for me is that the ninth graders are on a half block schedule. This means I go to classes #1-4 every day, and then on "A" Days, I go to #5 & 7 and on "B" Days I go to classes #6 & 8. However on Fridays I have to go to all 8 of them! Talk about confusing!
Ok last thing! This year I tried out for the volleyball team this year. I went to volleyball camp and practiced hard but I still didn't make it. I am not really sad about it because I knew from the beginning that I didn't have a great chance. It was a good experience though and now I really enjoy playing volleyball! I hope everyone is enjoying the new school year!

A Scary Night..

I have had a really busy week. I went to Girl's Camp on Monday, came home Tuesday, went to Volleyball Camp Wednesday and Thursday, and went back to Girl's Camp on Thursday. Thursday night it was raining and cold. I was soaking wet and it was windy. I was absolutely freezing. I started shaking and shivering so a couple of super nice people let me use their jackets. Even though I had the jackets though I couldn't stop shaking. Soon Jodi (my friend McKenzie's Mom) asked me if I was ready to leave. (She was going to take me back home that night.) I didn't respond to her and so she and Heidi jumped up. Heidi grabbed my hand and pulled me up. She started pulling me behind her. Once we got out of the Pavillion we were sitting in, Heidi told me to stay with Jodi while she went to get the nurse. I felt just fine and I was confused as to the reason why they were getting the nurse. The nurse came back and told me to follow her finger which I did. Then they started pulling me down towards a cabin so that I could get warmed up. They gave me blankets and dry socks and jackets. I became surrounded by people that I didn't know. I was really nervous. These people finally decided that I needed to go to the Emergency Room. Someone took me to their car and made me sit down. I still didn't know anyone, but a man came up to me and told me that he needed to check my blood sugar. I am very scared of needles but I had to let them do it anyways. It hurt and I was crying. I still didn't understand what was going on. The man told me that my blood sugar was normal but that I still needed to go to the ER. Soon Heidi joined me in the car. She was comforting me and keeping me calm. I was really glad to finally have someone that I knew. When we got to the hospital, I got out of the car and the doctor made me sit in a wheelchair and be wheeled into the hospital. I was holding Heidi's hand and still very scared. I got into a hospital bed and laid down. Soon I was getting my blood pressure checked. Heidi was still there and was then joined by Jodi, Lisa, and Linda. They are all so nice to come with me. The nurse put on my hospital bracelet and then they doctor came in. He checked my breathing and other basic things like that. He told me that he needed to draw my blood. I shook my head and would not let him do that. So he left and I was alone with my four leaders again. They were talking to me and stroking my hair, and holding my hands. They made me feel peaceful instead of so nervous and scared. (Afterwards they all four told me that I was constantly shaking and that my eyes were always moving rapidly.) The doctor came back and told me that I had to go have a cat scan. He said I would have to lay still for ten minutes while it x-rayed my brain. Again, I was terrified and was so glad to have Heidi there the whole time. After the cat scan I had to get my finger pricked AGAIN! I absolutley hated it. It hurt really bad. I know this is getting really long so I will make the rest short. My Mom got there, the doctors told me I could go home, I said goodbye to Lisa, Linda, and Heidi, and then got in the car with my Mom and Jodi. I fell asleep on the way home and now I am doing better. I just shake every once and a while, and sometimes still feel cold. I have heard that the doctors think I was cold and in shock, then had an anxiety attack mixed with possibly hypothermia. It was a crazy night and I am so thankful to my leaders staying the night up there with me so that I wasn't alone.

Volleyball Camp!

Volleyball camp is so much fun! We have been working on serving, setting, bumping, passing, attacking, correct posture, and other such fun things! I actually really enjoy it! It is 2 1/2 - 3 hours each day. It is really hot and you have to work really hard but I am loving everything about it. All of the coaches have been awesome, especially Coach O'Malley. She is incredibly nice and helpful towards Erin and I. Doing this camp has really made me a better player, and I think that I will try out for the Volleyball team this year. I hope you all are doing well!

Little Miss Syracuse!

It has officially been decided! Lyndsey Brophy is going to be my Little Miss Syracuse!!! Yay! I am unbelieveably excited to finally have it set in stone! I gave her the news over the phone and then went to her house to give her two necklaces that I bought for her as a thank you gift for doing this for me. I think she is excited about it and I know she is going to be a lot of fun! The downside is now she has been sucked into the life of pageants! Somehow I don't think she will mind. But we have already gotten a photoshoot scheduled for next week! We are making our Tribute Page, a publicity thing! Lyndsey and I are going to make a great team!

Party!!

Last night I had so much fun! It was our young women's night and I got to go to my last Beehive activity. :( But anyways! We had a pizza and wii party at Heidi's house. We ate these amazing breadsticks that were homemade by Heidi, pizza, and rootbeer floats! Yum! Then we played the wii. We played Mario Kart and Guitar Hero. Then Lyndsey (my hopefully soon to be Little Miss Syracuse!!!!!) got me to play an amazingly fun game called "Boogie" with her. It was so much fun! We sang and danced and partyed the night away! Pretty soon the Beehives left and it was just me. (McKenzie had to go to an interview.) I played Boogie with Lyndsey until McKenzie came back. Then we went outside and played on the trampoline, the swingset, and on the basketball court, playing games like Lightning! Then everyone (Me, Lyndsey, Natalie, McKenzie, Mason, Madison, and Sage) played Ghost in the Graveyard. I had so much fun!!!!!!!!! Thanks goes out to Heidi for letting us over power her house to have so much fun! I really think that all of the Brophy kids are amazing and sweet and I love to play with them!! I can't wait to find out for sure if Lyndsey can be my Little Miss Syracuse for the up and coming Miss Utah Outstanding Teen Pageant!!!! YAY!
