Heritage Days 2011

I spent Heritage Days this year with Brady and Baylee! (: We went to Syracuse's Got Talent, Battle of the Bands, the carnival, seeing all the vendor booths, the fireworks, all the fun stuff! (:  I just love heritage days. It's my favorite time of summer. (: So much fun.

Well. At the carnival this year, there was a game where if you can throw a ball into one of the cups in the middle, you win a goldfish. Brady and I played it, but we of course didn't win. It's pretty much impossible like most of the games there. Well Brady wanted a fish, so we went to Walmart to get her one. There was only one alive, the others were all dead stacked on top of each other, and it had blood on  it's eye and by it's mouth. Gross. But she bought it anyways for $5. And accordingly named him "Blood." We took him over to Baylee's house and put him in their little fish aquarium that wasnt' being used at the moment. Well, he like spazzed out and then like 5 minutes later died.
Blood is the large white blob in the tank. He was one big fish.

So then we were all depressed. He died like an hour after we got him! So we went back to the carnival and played the game again. There was a boy and a girl working. So while the boy was watching us play the game, the girl was sweet and put a ball in a cup for us, but the boy thought we'd thrown it so he gave us a fish! This was our second fish of the night. He was a little baby size goldfish, and his name was Joshua. We took him back to my house and put him in Aubrey's fishbowl with her fish. He lived! Until today. I don't know if he made it overnight or what, but he was dead when I came home from church. And so we gave him a proper burial by feeding him to our turtle Franklin.

Maybe Brady, Bay, and I just weren't meant to have fish.

Us with Joshua when he was alive.

Joshua dead. :(

I give up.

"One Enchanted Evening"

Wow. That is the only word I can think of to describe this day. It was Baylee's 16th birthday party. It was a surprise. And it was incredible. Her mom put so much work into making this one special night, and it totally was. I'm so crushed because I took SO many pictures and lost them all... stupid computer... other then the few I uploaded to picnik to edit. So I'll just show you as best  as I can!!

So. Her mom took her to get a prom dress for her "birthday present" on Tuesday. Baylee picked out this beautiful black dress with white beading from Maceys. It has such a beautiful train and I just love it. Then Aly and Bay's mom had me hang out with Bay all day on Thursday so they could set up. We went to the mall and had a freaking awesome time trying on dresses and taking pictures, meeting crazy people like usual, and just hanging out!

Then at about 3, Aly came to get us, and took us back to Bay's house. Aly got out of the car, but her mom was waiting to just jump in. She took off driving and took Bay to get glitter toes!! It was fun, and her toes turned out way cute. Then she got her hair done in this fancy up-do, with a cute little tiara in it. She looked gorgeous. We went back to her house, where Bay put on her dress, and I kept her busy by taking her pictures in it! I'm SO so sad that I lost all of them. I took like 100! Goodness. I'm way sad. But here are the four I recovered.

Doesn't she just look gorgeous?!

Little did Bay know, her family had set up a scene right out of a Disney movie in the backyard! There was an awning, white curtains, little sparkling lights everywhere, and candles lining the deck and stairs. I mean the place was gorgeous. We told Bay to count to ten and then come outside where everyone was waiting. She absolutely loved it. And so did I. She was the beautiful princess of the night!!

For dinner we had a cute princess dinner, where each princess was represented by a different food. It was just so darling. Then we sang karaoke, gave Bay our advice on how to have a "Happily Ever After," and just got to talk.

Then it was present time! Aly had asked everyone beforehand to make their present correlate to a Disney movie. The example she gave was that for Tangled, Bay was getting a frying pan, and then lots of stuff for her hair and hair accessories. This was really hard for me! I tried everything from going to get her a fish to represent Finding Nemo, to getting her a bunch of balloons, putting little gifts in them, and then filling them with helium to represent Up. Nothing was working out! Finally I remembered the saying from the movie Tinkerbell, "All you need is faith, trust, and a little pixie dust." So that's what I based my present off of! I got her a little key chain with charms, one of them saying "Faith" for faith, a best friend picture holder with a picture of us in it to represent trust (like, she can trust me because we're best friends! I couldn't really think of anything else. (: ), and then sparkly eyeshadow and nail polish for a little pixie dust. I thought it turned out cute. I made a little card that said, "For a fabulous 16th birthday, all you need is faith, trust, and a little pixie dust." I think she liked it! It was fun to see what everyone got her. (:

Then finally, they had a fire performer come do his perfomance for us. It was pretty cool, not gonna lie.

Overall, it was an amazing day. Coolest birthday party ever. I'm so happy for Bay, and that she's 16 now!! (: I love her to pieces, and I'm so glad to have her as my bff. (: Don't know what I'd do without her. Happy birthday Bay!!  (:

Cake Pops.

If there's one good thing about going to pageant workshops, it's definitely the delicious treats they bring. Plus they're all fancy and cute about it too. This is why I'm dedicating this post to telling you how incredibly delicious cake pops are. Seriously. Go buy one. Ah! And I don't even like cake! They are just little balls of cake dipped in chocolate and then decorated all cutesy. They're just like a bite of heaven. K. I'm done.

Pageant Pictures

At this point, I've had to do a lot of work to prepare to be in this Miss Davis County Outstanding Teen pageant. And there might not even be a pageant. Fabulous. At this point, I'm only competing against one other girl, and there to be at least three contestants in order to hold the pageant. The paperwork deadline was last work, so if no one else signed up, I'll just have to make a video of my talent for the judges and using our videos and our resumes, the judges will just pick between us, without holding a pageant. Which wouldn't be that hard to do. Then I'd just go straight to Miss Utah Outstanding Teen. So whatever!

But assuming there would be a pageant, I had to go and have my headshots done.

Melissa Papaj did them, and I'm way way excited to see how they turned out. She's very talented and has such a fun personality, it was fun to spend an hour with her.

I had Acute Angle do my hair, and Heidi did my make-up. Getting all done up is stressful, because then you feel like you just have to sit and do nothing so you don't mess up what they've done. But it's totally worth it.

We went to Farmington Trails to get the pictures, and the place was covered with cotton. It was like snow covering the ground. It was really annoying and got all over my new dress. Plus there were so many bugs, I came home with bites all over. Awesome. (: It's ok, good pictures are worth it!

I'm excited to see them! (:

Welcome to Life!

There's a lot of new life at my house! It's very exciting! (: We have had a bird's nest in our tree house thing, on our playground. There have been four eggs in there for awhile, a beautiful robin egg blue color, but we didn't think much of it. We've had eggs in there pretty much every year for a while. But this is the first year they've hatched!!! (: They hatched a few days ago. And they're all still alive! They're just darling. It's been fun to go check on them every day. The mom's very protective, and she hates it when we go look at them. She squaks like crazy and flies at jet speeds towards you, it's kind of terrifying. So we just wait until she's gone to go see them.

Here's their life by the day:
Day 1-

This is what they looked like right after they hatched. They aren't too pretty... (: That's ok though. Hatching is a tough process.

Day 2-

Starting to get a little bit of feathers!

Day 3-
Starting to look like birds!

Day 4-
Their beaks are pretty developed! When I went out there to take this picture, their eyes weren't open still, but they could hear me, and they just kept opening their mouths, hoping I'd brought them worms!! It was pretty cute. (:

Day 5-

We've got wings!!! (:

Day 6 (today)-

They look totally like birds now! Their faces don't even look baby-ish! They could be like, legit adult birds! They're still really small though, and can't fly yet. I'm excited to see them learn! Isn't it absolutely CRAZY how fast they've developed?! I can't believe how much they keep changing over night.

This is their very dedicated mother. All of the other eggs we've had were deserted by their mothers. But not these ones!

What a fun adventure!! (: I love having baby birds.

Picnik

I am sort of, maybe, absolutely, totally, completely in love with Picnik. I got the premium features and I've been obsessed with it since. It's so fun!!! I just want to edit pictures all day! (: Some of the things I've been working on:

Where Have I Been??

It's been an eternity since I've posted. Well. That would be because my computer automatically installed an update that caused my computer to completely reset itself. In the process, I lost all of my pictures, documents, videos, programs, EVERYTHING. It's been awful, because I didn't have anything backed up or saved anywhere else. So I have all these posts I was going to do, that I now don't have the pictures for. Lucky for me, I had uploaded lots of pictures to picnik and Facebook, so I can at least get some of them back. I'll be posting again! Just cross my fingers for me that this never happens again. Because all my online class assigments I was doing are lost too, so I'll have to redo all those as well. Seriously, I HATE this. But it is what is....moving forward now.

Piano Recital 2011!

Today, I got piano recital #1 done!! Thank heavens. I'm ready to put this stress behind me! It went pretty good! I got to go 2nd this year, and I was so happy. She usually puts the students who've been taking longest at the end, so I'm always almost last. It's terrible because then you have to sit in anxiety of your turn! But this year, I just got it over with and then I was free to enjoy the rest of the recital! I played "Prelude and Toccata" by Alexander. That's one exciting title!!! Not. But it was a pretty fun song. This was a challenge to learn! Julie thought she'd be moving so she wasn't planning on holding a recital until a couple months ago! That's when she threw an 11 page song on me to learn and memorize quickly. It was an easier song for me, but it's still a lot of work to put in!! I'm proud of myself for learning it so fast and for doing pretty well at the recital. Hopefully I can say the same the second time around.....!

Me and Kenz!

My grandparents and I

Me and my parents

Julie and I! I just love Julie. She is such an amazing teacher and really has helped me so much! Plus we just have so much fun at my lessons. (: I'm lucky to have her!!!

Welcome Summer?

It's nice to be out of school, but it doesn't exactly feel like summer. It rained today, the weather really hasn't been that great, and the stress just keeps coming!! Here's what's been going on:

- Passed my drivers test!!! YES. You're allowed to miss 20 points, and I only missed one! So I 99% and I'm thrilled! I'm good to go get my license on my birthday! Which... pretty much feels forever away.

- Two piano recitals this week! One's bad enough, but Julie asked me to play in both!!!

- Registered for 3 online classes this week...ugh. Not excited. I have to do 4, but I'm going to try three for now.

- Pageant paperwork is due in less than 10 days.... Haven't exactly started.....

- Applied for 17 jobs on Monday... Yikes!

Wish me luck?

There Are Some Weird People in the World.

And you meet a lot of them at the mall. Just saying. Here are of the few of the craziest experiences Bay and I had with different people at the mall yesterday.

1) While walking down the hall, this guy stopped me to ask me if I was a model. Ummmm no.

2) There was this scary guy walking around our table at the food court just over and over again. He was kind of creeping me out so I was watching him and I mentioned him to Baylee. We just nonchalantly watched as he stared at our table, then I saw him hold up 2 fingers and mouth to his friend, "There's two." I started to freak out a little, Bay pulled her phone out and had 911 dialed in case she needed to call it, and we quickly got up and walked away into a different store.

3) We were in Vanity, and there was this group of 12-14 year old girls and they were being immature and just stupid. Bay and I kind of gave them a weird look, like any normal person would do, and then they freaked out! They started calling us all these mean names, and whenever they saw us in another store, they'd come in to try and bother us. After awhile, we got pretty annoyed and said something back to them. One girl freaked out, and said she was going to come use her knife on us, and her friends were holding her back. Second time that night that Bay had 911 dialed. It was crazy. Again, we just had to walk away.

4) Later, at Subway, these guys told us we were beautiful and asked if they could sing to us. So in the middle of the food court, we got serenaded. Ha ha it was really funny, but a little awkward.

Good times at the mall! Also, lesson learned, don't try to use the sample spray tan thing yourself if you don't know what you're doing. Cause Bay looked like she had changed races, and I looked like a dalmation. Just some advice. (:

Where Did the Time Go?

I can hardly believe that tenth grade is over! It feels like it just started!! This has honestly been the best year of my life. I've loved high school! I got to meet so many amazing people this year and it was just fun. Don't think I've ever said that about a school year before! It did have it's challenges, that's for sure, but I made it!! I can't believe how fast time is flying, and I'm going to be graduating in two years! That's terrfiying. I am going to try to seriously enjoy the moment, and these next two years of high school. (:

As is now tradition, Bay, Brady, and I went to Arctic Circle the last day of school! Here are some crazy pictures. (:
I love my girls!! Without them, high school would probably have been unbearable. They made it so fun and I look forward to all the many memories we are going to keep making. (:

Tried to take a picture of Baylee! Took like 7 tries since she kept moving, but we finally got a good one. (:

And this would be my best friend the future super model!

We had a fun day!!!

I always look forward to signing yearbooks and the end of year assembly, just some seriously fun times.

I am excited for summer though!! Hopefully it'll be a great one!!

PS- Finished my first two years of high school and managed to keep my 4.0 GPA!!!!! I'm really proud of myself and I hope I can keep it til I graduate!!
